(OCT 2009) THE NORWEGIAN COMPANY NORTURA has implemented Transvision Livestock Planner for the planning of inbound livestock slaughterhouse transportation. The system is now being rolled out on Nortura’s mid-Norwegian operation with a view to planning the livestock supply for one of their brand new industrial slaughterhouses.
Transvision has extensive experience in delivering planning systems for livestock transportation, covering both slaughter animals and breeding animals. The cooperation with Nortura is a major step forward for Transvision in our ambition of continuously increasing the industrial relevance of Transvision Livestock Planner and expanding our position as the leading provider of advanced planning systems for this sector. The system is truly targeted at the livestock transportation industry and holds a large number of industry-specific functionalities.
At Nortura, the system will e.g. be able to handle planning according to:
- Live-updated production plans in as little as hour brackets (production curves per livestock type)
- The number of vehicle arrivals due to port time slot restrictions
- The maximum number of animals in stock level, also differentiated as regards the type of animals
- Loading rules for animals in different compartments
- The maximum transport time for livestock
- Due consideration of different sickness classes for animals
- Necessary truck quarantine between transports
- Rolling plans balancing transport costs and animal ageing
Over time, the Transvision Livestock Planner will be set up at Nortura using the system’s broad functionality for automatic optimisation, vehicle data mobility and advanced real-time status reporting.
Transvision is happy to provide Nortura with the advanced Transvision Livestock Planner and welcomes the future cooperation between the two companies.
