AFA JCDecaux is part of the international JCDecaux Group, which is present in 56 countries and employs approximately 10,000 people. In Denmark, AFA JCDecaux is the leading provider of advertising space on city equipment such as automatic public toilets, information boards and bus stop shelters. The company offers municipalities free city equipment and street furniture which is financed by advertising space on the equipment. AFA JCDecaux offers innovative advertising solutions and is present in all areas of the market – street furniture, billboards and transport.

 

The equipment is maintained and cleaned by AFA JCDecaux’s approximately 60 technicians. The planning of maintenance and cleaning is mainly based on master routes, as all equipment is fixed. New advertising posters are put up on Mondays, and the cleaning of the equipment is carried out throughout the rest of the week.

 

The project was initiated with a pilot implementation in one municipality. This showed impressive results, revealing significant reductions in driving time and mileage. Hence, AFA JCDecaux is now rolling out the system across the Danish and Icelandic operations.

 

The standard system Transvision Route Planner fully met AFA JCDecaux’s needs, and no additional enhancements were needed. AFA JCDecaux will use the system for the planning of master routes, for making simulations prior to submitting proposals for new business opportunities, for occasional re-optimisation of the master routes, and finally for making what-if simulations in order to carry out best practices in the operations.
