(APRIL 2010) MARINE HARVEST NORWAY has decided on Transvision Livestock Planner as their future system for well-boat transport planning. On top of this, Marine Harvest has chosen the built-in mobile application as their coming well-boat mobile platform and the system’s reporting module for making consignment notes and extended reports.
The system will be used for the planning of and communication with 10-12 well-boats which transport fry from breeding silos to sea wells and adult fish from sea wells to different processing facilities.
Marine Harvest is a world-leading fish farming company present in many salmon farming regions of the world. The company is particularly well-established within salmon farming. Marine Harvest handles the whole process from breading, through processing, to refining products.
Transvision Livestock Planner is very well suited for Marine Harvest’s operation due to the strong livestock-oriented features of the system. The system is capable of planning with different boat compartments and according to supply demand profiles in processing facilities. Besides this, it is also possible to build specific sailing routes in the map, which enables Marine Harvest to carry out planning on their own tailored sailing route network.
One big advantage of Transvision Livestock Planner is its ability to make high-level plans many weeks ahead and, in combination with the planner’s manual decisions, slowly convert high-level plans into detailed daily operational plans. Another great advantage is that the system merges transport execution with the operational plan via live status messages and positions, displaying the consequences of delays in the transport.
We look forward to working closely together with Marine Harvest and to delivering the state-of-the-art transport planning and execution system Transvision Livestock Planner.
