(JUNE 2011) THROUGH TRANSVISION’S IRISH PARTNER, Tranzaura, TDG Ireland has purchased Transvision Route Planner for the optimisation of the company’s retail distribution routes.
TDG Ireland is part of the multinational TDG group, which is one of Europe’s largest logistics companies, operating more than 130 sites across Europe. Servicing the Irish and Northern Irish markets, TDG Ireland offers domestic transport and distribution services and logistics warehousing, as well as international freight forwarding by air, sea and road.
Transvision Route Planner is currently being deployed on TDG Ireland’s retail distribution in order to leverage resources and reduce mileage within this business segment. It will be used for daily operational planning and for optimising master routes, and as a strategic tool for reviewing the distribution routes.
After having carried out a trial of the software, TDG Ireland chose Transvision Route Planner for its high-quality route planning capabilities. Other factors contributing to the choice of the system were Tranzaura’s and Transvision’s comprehensive industry experience and the fact that Tranzaura is a local provider offering local support.
The implementation of Transvision Route Planner is well under way, and it will soon be put into full operational use. The system will also be integrated with TDG Ireland’s warehouse management system, ensuring a highly automated planning process all the way through.
